The Rachel Barton Pine Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2001 by violinist Rachel Barton Pine. Built on the belief that music has the power to transform lives, the Foundation provides resources, opportunities, and inspiration to young artists who dream of sharing their talents with the world. From lending rare instruments to creating groundbreaking educational programs, we exist to break down barriers and empower the next generation of classical musicians.

We are committed to supporting students and emerging artists through instrument loans, educational grants, performance opportunities, and programs that celebrate diversity in classical music. By nurturing talent and broadening representation, we enrich not only the lives of individual musicians but also the cultural fabric of communities everywhere.
Why We Do It
We do this work because we believe that music belongs to everyone. Talent knows no boundaries, yet too often gifted musicians are held back by financial limitations, lack of access, or underrepresentation in the classical tradition. We are here to change that. By lifting these barriers, we give young artists the chance to shine, to tell their stories through music, and to inspire future generations.
